7 months

it is shocking that shay is growing up so fast! i can't believe it. i never really realized that mylie grew up this fast, but it is so much fun to watch her. shaylie is such a love. she has the BIGGEST smile i have ever seen. when she smiles her mouth is wide open and it is huge!!!

here are some fun things about shay:

-she has her bottom two teeth. she got them just after she turned 6 months.
-she has the cutest roundest face.
-she is the pickiest eater. she didn't start actually eating solid food until about 7 months and she doesn't really love anything. she will tolerate oatmeal if it has bananas or applesauce in it. she likes sweet potatoes and green beans.
-she still won't take a bottle or a sippy...and believe me we have tried everything.
-she is super loud. she loves to chat and doesn't mind if it is 3 in the morning.
-she can find her binky and put it back in her mouth.
-she loves her sister and thinks she is so funny! she will laugh at mylie for hours.
-she is very strong. she loves to jump in her bouncer.
-shay has a ton of hair now...love it!
-best at blowing raspberries. funny until it hits me in the face during eating.
-she doesn't like being on her tummy or back...so she is very slow learning to roll over. she can roll from tummy to back, but hates trying to learn the other way.
-she was a good sleeper....every since she got sick a few weeks ago, she wake up a few times a night. she eats at 3 in the morning now.... :( and then at 7 :(! (she slept until 8 the other day with no wakes...maybe she is changing back)
-shay loves her mama. we are buddies.

my birthday...28

well...like i said in the previous post....i LOVE my birthday! i am almost like a little child when it comes to celebrating...i don't need big presents or anything, but i love to just be with family and hang out. this year was a year to remember. it was on monday, which every so often it falls on a president's day, so everyone takes a day off to celebrate with me:)!!! so it all began with a yummy breakfast with my cute hubby and kiddos, and relaxing. then we were planning what we wanted to do that day and decided to go and wander in the mall. then we went to salt lake for dinner at Pei Wei....SO YUMMY! craig and kailee joined us at dinner and it was so much fun to be with them.
we walked over to Nothing Bundt Cakes after.....kailee bought me a red velvet bundt....it was SOOOOOO good. thanks kay kay.

then we met chris and anne at the IMAX and watched avatar in 3D. It was so much fun. craig and kailee took the girls home for us and put them to bed. overall it was an AMAZING day. thanks honey! you are the best!oh...and for my present he TOTALLY surprised me with a TV/DVD player for the kitchen. i am in heaven! thank you everyone for making my day wonderful, for the notes and treats, and just for being the best.

valentines

i LOVE valentines day....well and my birthday....and i have never loved them so close together, but i think that i am finally growing up because i don't mind it so much anymore. we had a fantastic valentines weekend and we never stopped celebrating. friday night chris said that he wanted to bring home dinner and i had a pretty good idea of what he was going to do...you see we have a little tradition of eating a papa murphey's heart-shaped pizza for valentines day...and this year was no different...

so saturday was another fun day. we got up and tried to make daddy some breakfast, but before we could get it to him in bed he was coming down the stairs. so we all enjoyed some german pancakes and bacon. yummy... daddy left to get a haircut and mylie, shaylie and i had some plans of our own to get valentines day done. my super wonderful talented friend reni helped me out with some pictures of the girls for a gift for daddy. it was harder to get the girls to smile and look and cooperate then we thought it was going to be. but it turned out we got some great shots... after running around for a bit to get everything finished we went to dinner...we decided to battle the crowds and headed down to brick oven....NO WAIT!!! WAHOO!! it was our lucky day. chris surprised me with some roses, sugar cookies, and well you will have to wait for tomorrow to see what i got for my birthday.... he couldn't wait to give it to me.

sunday was actually valentines day, but it was a super busy day as all sundays are for me. the girls looked so cute, and i didn't get a picture so I will get them in their outfits again and take a picture, but we went to church all together for the first time in weeks... then i had meetings, then we went to a friends to enjoy some cookies. we came home and i got to work on all my preparations... chris put the girls down and went to watch the olympics while i worked. i saw an amazing deal at maceys that if you buy 4 ribeyes, you get a 5lb bag of potatoes, dozen rolls, corn, and a 2 liter all for free....hello.... it was delicious! So chris was supposed to be surprised about the pictures, but saturday night driving home she blurts out "daddy we went to jake and karen's today to take pictures!" we just laughed! i made chris valentine rice krispie treats and chocolate covered oreos... it was an amazing weekend.
