Conversation with a 2.5 year old

So I was standing waiting at the door of the bathroom waiting for Mylie to be finished on the Potty.

Mylie: MOM COME WIPE ME....

Me: (Waiting for her to say it nice, I am just looking at her and not moving)

Mylie: MOM COME WIPE ME.....

Mylie: MOM COME WIPE ME.....

Me: (with my hands on my hips) Mylie I am waiting for you to use the magic word.

Mylie: FINE, MEESKA MOOSKA MICKEY MOUSE, NOW COME WIPE ME!!!!

Not quite the magic words I was looking for.... Moral of the Story...Too much Mickey Mouse!

Snow Day with Dad

Saturday Chris was asked to shovel the walks at the church for the primary activity. So he got Mylie up and bundled her in her snow clothes and took her with him. She had so much fun, but was definitely ready to come inside after. She was in the process of making a snowman with dad and decided she was ready.

Wouldn't you know it, 3 days later and she comes down with Bronchiolitis!!! POOR THING. So we will be staying in the house for a while!

(Feeding the Ducks in St. George)

Are you kidding me....a whole half a year?!??! Where has the time gone. Shaylie has been such a great addition to our family. She is so content and just loves life. She loves to be sung to and will immediately just look at you when you start singing. She still loves to be swaddled, lower half only, and will sleep from 9:00 to about 6:30 or 7:00. She loves her binky still too.

Shaylie is soooo ticklish. She giggles too when she is tickled. Her smile is the sweetest smile I have ever seen and love it even more that she doesn't have any teeth. She babbles a lot but has not made sense of any words. She chews on anything that she can get her hands on, but definitely doesn't love cereal and HATES trying to take a bottle.

She is getting really good at sitting up and will only fall if she gets too excited and tips over. Somehow she is getting herself around because if I leave her on the floor on her tummy she does a 180 and is facing the other way. She has started rolling finally from her tummy to her back...and does it all the time.

Here are some stats:
Weight: 15 lbs 11 oz 45th%
Height: 25.5 in 41st %
Head: 16.25 in 18th%

Thank you Shaylie for being in our family and putting up with our crazy family!!

Don't let this fool you...She spits it right back out...(We started solids on Jan. 5th)

St. George Cruisin

We decided to get out of the COLD INVERSION and escape for a little R&R!!! We were planning to go with some friends, but when they decided not to go...it didn't stop us we still wanted to go. So we packed up of Friday and left and made the 4 hour trek leaving about 2 and getting there just after 6. It was a lot different having to stop for potty breaks, drink/snacks, and the yucky mess of Shaylie's Blowout. Mylie didn't sleep even a little on the way down. She was sooo tired, but too excited to see her cuzzies. So we got there, grabbed some dinner and put the kids to bed and played games and the wii. Mylie was having a hard time going to bed. We anticipated her sleeping in the girls room in her big girl sleeping bag....WRONG. We took her binky away just 2 days prior to this....not a good idea. So I gave in and gave her the binky and she was out....in Kamri's crib.
*good thing is that since we got home, she never asked for the binky again*

Saturday was fun. We got up and went to feed the ducks. Mylie was loving it. I have deprived her long enough from feeding ducks and she was having so much fun just playing with her cousins and watching what they do. After, Chris and Nate were STUCK in front of the TV watching 2 full games of football. The kids played outside on bikes and things ALL day. So Mindy and I decided to go to the craft store and make a carseat cover. We picked out fabric, and Mindy went to town on the sewing. She is AMAZING! It turned out SUPER cute...I love it!

Sunday we were not going to come home, but due to the weather and storms we decided it was probably best. So we went to church and came home and ate some dinner and made some cotton candy with the new machine and then packed up to head home. Mylie threw a fit and didn't want to leave her cuzzies. We started driving at about 6:30 and the girls slept the entire way. I carried Mylie to her bed dreading what time she was going to wake up....and she slept all night. It was so much fun to stay with them and we had such a good time. Too bad it was so short. We will have to come again!

Hair Cut Horror!

At least she looked cute getting it done...
Being brave holding daddy's hand

I was so excited to cut Mylie's hair. We were waiting until after family pictures and they we were going to cut the mullet off. She has not had a hair cut her WHOLE life...so we were super excited. I debated for a long time to see who was the best fit person to cut her hair. My cousin has always cut my hair, but you have to schedule a few months in advance to get into her. So I decided it was not THAT big of deal and I would take her to the mall....BOY WAS I WRONG. She sat her in the chair and said that her hair was too much of baby hair that if we cut it into a bob, she would look like a boy. Well I just said, "Don't take any off the top and cut off the Mullet!!!"
So she starts "pretending" to cut I guess and cut a little off the top to make horrible bangs...and left the mullet. I was sooooo mad when I left. She did such a horrible job I cried...yes I cried I will admit it. We were supposed to get her ears pierced, but I just couldn't do it with such a horrible cut. So long story short...she had a horrible cut, no pierced ears, and a very unhappy mommy. I couldn't even collect enough off the floor to save for her baby book.... So really I am not even going to consider this her first cut. We will try again in a couple months.
